I don’t even know where to begin with this but I’ll just dig in. Some folks will “get it,” others of you…it’ll fly over your head with no surprise on my end.

There is a huge difference between being a blogger and a journalist. For one, (most) bloggers don’t have a degree in journalism/mass communication. Second, bloggers are people who have created a website to provide their opinion. Yea, believe it or not, we’re still entitled to those.

While I understand that my opinion may not always be what’s popular, I am entitled to have one. If there’s something that I post on the blog that you don’t agree with, that’s fine. We’re ALL entitled. But when you feel the need to call me out of MY name, when you feel the need to ask me “why are you posting about something or someone that you don’t like,” OR when you accuse me of being another blogger (I think THAT shit is the most hilarious), then you’re out of line.

I won’t tap dance and two step with you on anything. Rather than arguing back and forth with you, I’m blocking your ass.

For one…in order for you to get to the website, you have to type in my name. Use it.

Two, there have been many times that I’ve posted about things or people that I didn’t necessarily care for HOWEVER…I have readers who may find that a certain blog with specific pics or video are needed. Oftentimes when I DON’T post certain things, I get emails, IMs, twits, DMs, etc., asking “Jia, I saw this or that over at ______ (insert other bloggers site here), why haven’t you posted about it?” Nevermind the fact that they’ve already read it elsewhere…they come to MissJia.com to see what I am going to say about it. 99% of the time I comply b/c, if that’s okay with you, I’d like to keep my readers. Most of the times, things that I post interest me as well but there have been quite a few times when I’ve thought “You know what…I do NOT want to post about this but I KNOW my readers will eat me alive if I don’t. Lemme post it!” LOL And it’s done….

Speaking of other bloggers, let’s be clear on something else. Although I am VERY new to entertainment blogging, I have been blogging since 2004. Additionally, I have a VERY visible face on the web. I have a Facebook page, a Myspace page, and a Youtube channel so that my face goes along with the blog. All of the aforementioned pages were created in 2007 or better. So why some of you would idiotically say that I am another blogger is not only ridiculous but extremely insulting. It’s almost as though you’re dismissing my identity to justify your own stupidity. If that’s what works for you, that’s fine. But I’ve been visible on the ‘net far longer than ANY blogger that you could compare me to. Do your research first…make accusations later. Diminishing my hard work to satisfy your own ego won’t cut it.

I can’t speak on how others run their blog but if you get silly on mine, I’m blocking you. Call it whatever you want, get mad about and write Obama to see if he will create a bill protecting you against it. But when I stay up until 4, 5 and 6 in the morning…working on fixing a layout, trying to make the blog more esthetically pleasing to the eye, cropping/editing pictures, creating posts, etc., only for a person to come and try to assassinate my character by either telling me that I AM another blogger, trying to BE like another blogger or that I have no rights to an opinion? Please…it only makes that block button a hell of a lot more sweet and I’m definitely NOT afraid to use it. If you guys feel as though all bloggers who post the same or similar content are “one,” then SOMEBODY out here is a baller b/c EVERYBODY posts the same thing. EVERYBODY. If you log on to MissJia.com, you’ve more than likely seen the same shit over at The YBF’s, Sandra’s, Concrete Loop, Necole’s, Bossip, MTO, etc. And while many gifted people are behind the blogs, ain’t NOBODY gifted enough to run ALL of those blogs at once.

That being said…I have an opinion. Anytime I don’t like some shit that a celeb has done, I’ll let you know about it. Don’t like it? There are several blogs out there that leave their opinions out while only posting facts. Find ‘em.

To my readers who are always supportive, even when we have different opinions, I absolutely thank you! I appreciate you more than you know. When I wake up in the morning and see your interactions on the blog, it makes the late night before worth it. I feel extremely accomplished at YOUR happiness and I have YOU to thank. So thank you, honies!

And to those who feel like it’s worthless…*giggles* What did Jay Z say? Men lie, women lie…numbers don’t? Yea…I think I like that!
