I really need to finish my book.
Edited to add: I am more than halfway through this video and there are a lot of things I have criticism on. For one, I could’ve taken the ‘interview’ more seriously if:
-There was not a lot of laughing and dramatics throughout
-There wasn’t a 10 second thing about how folks are going to hell b/c they do and/or did porn and
-The questions didn’t sound like the questions of someone who was CURIOUS about the industry rather than being questions/answers that were informative and preventative.
This is why I need to write my book. I’ve heard people tell stories before but nobody is being serious about it. How do you expect people to take you and your message seriously if you’re laughing about it, immediately condemning folks to hell or asking questions that sound like you’re a fan of porn as opposed to helping the lost ones out?
I’m not condemning either party in the video; matter of fact, I would like to speak to the girl that he interviewed. But I just think that we should be a little more honest about the business and be mature about the approach you take against it to really convince people to not make the same mistakes.
COMMENTS
I agree Jia.I think the message would have been more informative if they could’ve done the interview without all the laughing.I mean how are people suppose to take this serious if every five seconds their laughing, joking, and acting a fool.
Me:Praise God for her testimony! She learned from her sins and corrected it the best way she knew how, and that was by giving herself fully back to Christ. We can only take people for face value but she seems repentant(shrugs shoulders). Jia, the points you gave for being critical of the video were obvious but not detrimental to her testimony. They had some light-hearted moments while talking about a heavy topic and some of it may have just been immaturity. I liked the video and am glad that she can still smile after going thru her experiences. I look forward to reading your book Jia and hope it’s soon.
Jia:Thank you for the support.
Hymeka:I watch the whole interview, and coming from someone who was close to entering the porn industry it’s hard to take them serious. Its very serious if someone internal muscles falls off while fucking, I mean wtf how is that the least bit humorous. Even though they did put some good pointers out there but from a religious stand point the issue is very debatable. I don’t believe (and this is coming from me only) that because you don’t live the so called righteous life that you will go to hell. Infact I don’t believe in a heaven or hell at all. All in all it’s good to see she got away from that lifestyle and leaning towards a good future to helping out adolescence.
SN: Jia I luv your site, I found your videos on youtube one boring day here in Atl. and I’ve been following your growth ever since. Keep up the good work mama and do your thang..:)
Hymeka you’re absolutely right. It was very hard to take them seriously. I always side eye the “extreme” Christians b/c IMO, they can take it too far.
Thank you so much for your compliments and for checking me out. I appreciate you (and soooo glad you didn’t go into the industry).
Je'Tara:I saw this the other day and was disturbed by it. I am always proud when someone gets out of something that could destroy them but geez the jokes were bothering me. Like Hymeka, when they laughed at the girl who muscle fell out, I was like are you serious? And the Gonnorhea in the eye, like how is any of this funny? It’s not.
I felt she could have done a better job when talking about it. Even when she went at Pinky that bothered me some. I felt she should just stick to her testimony and not bring other names into it. Or at least not go at others until she can seriously sit down and talk. I can’t wait for you to finish your book. I want to see the emotional side of it. Not prying or nothing, but what you would feel. I just want the truth because a lot of things are sugarcoated now days to look cool or glamorous. I posted this video on my facebook. Can’t wait to see what they say.
Sorry for the long comment Jia.
I have to give that girl credit for being able to talk about the side of porn that you never hear, like the dudes taking viagra and the women being abused and beaten and not paid very well. Jia I would like to know have you done a interview like this were you tell what you know about the industry and all the dirty little secrets of the industry.
Jia:I’ve talked about it some but not in great detail. I really don’t plan on giving up my dirt until I write my book. I keep putting it on hold; why? I dunno. But you guys will get lots of answers there. She only touched the tip of the iceberg in her interview. That’s not even the half.
Jia:No problem, Je’Tara. Feel free to post as long (or as short) as you’d like.
Kgibson75:Just an observation, did anyone else notice how “enthusiasticly (loud) she was speaking when discussing her dirt, but (and maybe its just me)did anyone else have to turn up the volume when he asked her what she’s doing now? Her response wasnt as boisterous as the rest of the interview.
Jia:Probably b/c she’s not doing shit….being honest.
Ms.Divine:It is funny the girls ass muscle fell out and someone had gonorrhea in their eye. They should not do that crazy shit. Im glad she left, glad you left too Jia. I think God is a forgiving God and I think if we right our wrongs we will get into Heaven. No one is perfect.
Uglycleanbroke87:Okay, I haven’t finished watching the whole thing, but I just wanted to make a few comments before I forget.
I disagreed with her when she made the comments that seemed to put blame on the pastor of the mega church she attended because he didn’t “convict” her. First of all, I believe it’s common knowledge that mega churches are bullshit. No shade to anyone that attends a mega church, but that’s my take on it. Hundreds and thousands of people go to mega churches so it’s really not made to convict people, it’s meant to rake in big numbers. So even if she wasn’t intentionally going to this particular type of church, I believe she subconsciously wanted to just be one of many faces in the crowd. She didn’t WANT to be convicted. Let a porn star come up in one of those “family” churches with 20 members and see if they won’t be approached by someone trying to convict them.
Second, even if a pastor doesn’t literally say, “You need to stop doing porn if you want a blessing!” people know right from wrong. Whether they choose to do right is a different story, but I think we all know when we’re doing something wrong, even while we’re doing it.
Also, when she said that the girls she speaks to will not inherit the kingdom of God because they’re sleeping with their boyfriends…if that’s the case, I wonder if she believes that she will “inherit” it now since she repented? Hmmm…interesting video indeed.
Ashley:I have to agree with everyone else about all the damn laughing, it made it hard to believe. I have always been curious about the ‘dark’ side of the porn industry and i did enjoy the video. I also look forward to your book Jia, but i’m curious why you didn’t care for this vid (besides the laughter)? You said she wasn’t being serious, did you mean honest? The stories she told blew my mind, so if you say it’s gets worse, then i can’t wait to hear how.
Jia:@Ashley,
I just think that all the laughing/humor made it hard to take the video seriously. If I was a girl who knew nothing about the industry EXCEPT for the fact that I wanted to be in it, this video wouldn’t do much in terms of making me terms my nose to it. I’d look at what they were saying as being a few unfortunate situations but would still be ready to pack it up and head out to LA b/c they just weren’t being “serious” enough to make them think negatively of the business.
