I posted a Facebook status today that basically told folks good job on doing whatever it is that they do that makes them happy.
I have a lot of friends who are doing a lot of great things. They may be deemed “small” in the eyes of a person who isn’t trying but in their eyes, it’s a big thing. I have friends purchasing homes, going to nail and hair school, getting jobs that they want, graduating college after wanting to go for so long, making personal changes to better their spirit, etc. And I’m proud of every one of them.
I think that we oftentimes get so caught up in the things that “aint” that we lose sight of the things that are. Some of us spend so much time being critical that we forget to say “good job” or congratulations when someone is actually headed in the right direction. Being critical or congratulatory is easy. But the one that you do most often is generally a reflection of where you are personally.
If no one has ever told you (or just haven’t said it in a while), allow me…congratulations for all that you’re accomplishing and may you continue to grow.

Ayanna J:#agreed.
I’ve always been uber critical of myself. So much, that it came out in one of those “psychic reading” (believe what you may, it was pretty accurate lol)
I was then told to “let life happen.” whoa.
When you allow it, your entire perspective on everything begins to change and you start to draw the things you deem “important” to yourself.
ironic huh?
awesome blog btw.
